Back Cardiovascular disease - identification and treatment of people at high risk
An update on primary prevention of cardiovascular disease (CVD). In this article, we focus on risk factor management for people with established CVD, with the aim of preventing further cardiovascular events.
We review the evidence for secondary prevention of CVD in asymptomatic people with established coronary artery disease and consider the place of blood pressure and lipid management, the use of antiplatelet and anticoagulant drugs and the role of lifestyle interventions to reduce future cardiovascular events.
