Back PCCS welcomes Dr Jim Moore on to the Council

The PCCS Board would like to announce an exciting addition to our Board in Dr Jim Moore. Welcome on Board Jim.

Jim takes his place alongside our existing elected Board members of Prof Ahmet Fuat (President), Dr Kathryn Griffith (Secretary), Prof Michael Norton (Treasurer), Dr Richard Blakey, Helen Williams, Dr Youssef Beaini and Beverley Bostock-Cox.

Jim studied medicine in Edinburgh before moving to Gloucestershire to work as a GP principal. He has an interest in cardiology and cardiovascular disease, particularly those aspects that are relevant to Primary Care and contributes regularly to related educational events across the UK.

Jim was involved in the development of the Primary Care based Gloucestershire Heart Failure service where he currently works as a GPwSI. He continues to represent Primary Care in the cardiovascular arena at both a local and national level. He presently chairs the Circulatory Clinical Programme group for Gloucestershire CCG and is Clinical Lead for the West of England AHSN Stroke Prevention in AF project “Don’t Wait to Anticoagulate”.

Having previously served on the board of the British Society for Heart Failure, Jim is currently a member of both the NICE Chronic Heart Failure Guideline committee and the National Heart Failure Audit Steering group. We are very excited to have Jim joining us with his vast experience in cardiovascular medicine, primary care education and guideline development. He promises to add another dimension to our multidisciplinary Board.
