I originally trained in Westminster London and have worked in cardiology for over 30 years as a clinical Physiologist. Over the past 10 years I have expanded my role by undertaking the MSc in advanced clinical practice and PG dip in practitioners with a specialist interest in cardiology. This has enabled me to develop and expand the community one stop heart failure diagnostic clinics, which has now won local and National awards.
I am accredited with the British Society of Echocardiography (BSE) and am also a national examiner for this society. I was kindly awarded the honour of life time achievement award from the BSE in 2019.
I am an enthusiastic advocate of training and development and have co established courses for focussed Echo in life support in North Wales along with contributing as a chapter author in a book and providing on line training material for the EACVI (European association for cardiovascular imaging) and the Resuscitation council UK.
The development and implementation of the first of its kind diagnostic vehicle is an enormous achievement, this has been transformational for our service and was recognised and won the category in the NHS Wales awards.
