Beverley Bostock

PCCS President, Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Mann Cottage Surgery and Editor in Chief, Practice Nurse Journal

Beverley is an Advanced Nurse Practitioner in long-term conditions. She is currently President of the Primary Care Cardiovascular Society.  She has a special interest in cardiovascular disease (CVD), diabetes, heart failure, chronic kidney disease and lipid management along with common comorbidities such as metabolic liver disease, asthma and COPD. She is Editor-in-Chief of Practice Nurse Journal and has been a Queen’s Nurse since 2015. In a previous role she developed and delivered accredited modules in cardiovascular disease, heart failure and diabetes in collaboration with the Open University. As well as holding an MA in Medical Ethics and Law and an MSc in Respiratory Care, Bev has a Postgraduate Diploma in Diabetes from the University of Warwick. Bev has had an extensive range of articles published in various journals on the management of long-term conditions and is a regular speaker at national conferences.

Dr Rosemary Clarke

Consultant Medical Biochemist, NHS Highland

Dr Rosemary Clarke is Consultant Medical Biochemist in NHS Highland, and is an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at University of Aberdeen. She trained in Chemical Pathology with Metabolic Medicine in London before moving to NHS Highland to lead the Lipid and Point Of Care services. She also works within the Blood Sciences Laboratory and is block lead for medical student diagnostics teaching.

She has an extensive academic research background having completed two Masters and a PhD, and an ongoing commitment to drive quality improvement on a local and national level. Through her role with Scottish Lipid Forum and NHS Highland, she aims to improve the care of individuals living with high cholesterol and triglycerides. This is through highly specialised care in secondary care lipid clinics, via the laboratory through the interpretation of lipid results, through education and guidelines for other healthcare professionals and via advocacy for patients.

Dr Jim Moore

Past President of the Primary Care Cardiovascular Society, GP, GPSI Cardiology, Gloucestershire

Dr Moore is a GP in Gloucestershire with a special interest in Cardiovascular Medicine and Past President of the Primary Care Cardiovascular Society, spearheading significant changes in this organisation. He lectures extensively across the UK.

He has been heavily involved in National CVD advisory groups, guidelines and working parties. He was a member of the NICE Chronic Heart Failure in Adults Guideline committee (2016-2018) and was a board member of British Society for Heart Failure.

Dr Moore has provided cardiovascular clinical support to local commissioning organisations for over two decades and to Cardiac Networks in the South-West. He is currently Clinical Co-Lead (Primary Care) for the West of England Integrated Cardiac Clinical Network.

Dr Moore is the National Clinical Co- Lead (Primary Care) for the National Cardiac Transformation Programme which has included working closely on NHSE initiatives such as Managing Heart Failure @Home and more recently chaired a group that developed the National (NHSE) guidance for the Virtual Ward care for people with heart failure.

He has been involved in the establishment and subsequent development of the community-based Gloucestershire Heart Failure service since its inception in 2003 where he continues to work as a GPSI.

 

Prof Lis Neubeck

Professor of Cardiovascular Health in the School of Health and Social Care and Head of the Centre for Cardiovascular Health at Edinburgh Napier University

Professor Lis Neubeck is Professor of Cardiovascular Nursing and Head of the Centre for Cardiovascular Health at Edinburgh Napier University, and leads the NHS Research Scotland Cardiovascular Research Network. Her research focuses on cardiovascular prevention, digital health, women’s heart health and translating evidence into practice. She recently completed her term as ESC Patient Forum Lead, and is an elected member of the EAPC Primary Care and Risk Factor Management Section Nucleus, and serves on the ESC Gender Diversity and Equity Task Force, and is Editorial Lead for the ESC Communication Committee. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh.

Delegate Terms and Conditions

Delegate non-attendance for free events

For events that are free to attend or free places are offered for practicing healthcare professional delegate registration is free for the capacity of places. Delegates must book their place up to 48 hours prior to the event. We plan our catering and other arrangements according to the number of delegates registered; if you register for a place at a PCCS event then fail to attend without letting us know, we reserve the right to charge a non-attendance fee of £40 + VAT to cover our costs.

Delegate cancellation – Free events

All cancellations must be notified in writing to admin@PCCSUK.org and must arrive no later than 72 hours prior to the event. After that date cancellations will be treated as Non-Attendance (see above).

Changing delegate details

There will be no charge if a substitute person wishes to replace the original delegate. Please inform our office at admin@PCCSUK.org of any change to the original booking.

Event Cancellation Policy

The PCCS’s courses are constantly updated and improved and the PCCS reserves the right to alter any of the courses’ content without prior notice. The PCCS reserves the right to cancel a course at any time without liability. In these circumstances, delegates will be offered an alternative date if possible.

Booking policy

Please note your booking is not confirmed until you receive, in writing, a booking number from the PCCS; only when this has been received is your booking secure.

Cancellation of Registration

The PCCS reserve the right to cancel or refuse any registration at our sole discretion if the registrant does not meet the eligibility or participation criteria. In such cases, any registration fees paid will be refunded; however, we will not be responsible for, nor will we reimburse, any costs incurred for travel, accommodation, or other related expenses.

Privacy policy

The PCCS will not keep any credit card details on file and after each event all this information will be securely destroyed.
