New poster on clinical indications and triage of echocardiography for heart valve disease

New poster on clinical indications and triage of echocardiography for heart valve disease

We are delighted to have partnered with The British Society of Echocardiography (BSE), British Cardiovascular Society, British Heart Valve Society and Heart Valve Voice to share updated resources designed to assist with triaging of echo referrals for heart valve disease.

The new guidance includes updated triage guidance for follow-up of heart valve disease and following valve replacement. Professor Dan Augustine, President of the BSE, said: “This update of the triage guidance has been a big project, bringing together eleven national societies to offer contemporary, specialist advice on echocardiography triage. It’s important that we have had input from primary and secondary care and I’d like to thank all of the society representatives for their help.”

Professor Raj Thakkar, President of the Primary Care Cardiovascular Society, said: “This work is essential to support the early detection and monitoring of heart valve disease, and to improve the value of each echocardiogram performed. The PCCS is delighted to contribute to this fantastic piece of work.”
